The Steering Committee

The Metro Smart Cities Steering Committee, Co-Chaired by Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and Werner Enterprises CEO Derek Leathers, provides oversight and thought leadership for the pilot projects driven by Metro Smart Cities.

Guided by four identified goals, the committee ensures that efforts are consistently working toward these “North Star” ideals, while providing advice and counsel to overcome challenges of the work. 

The work of the Metro Smart Cities Steering Committee provides strategic oversight and guidance for the significant efforts of the Public Private Partnerships (P3) that ensure the pilot projects forge ahead and run smoothly.

The Planning Team

The Metro Smart Cities Planning Team is made up of representatives from multiple entities, showing the critical importance of the Public Private Partnerships (P3) needed to do this work. 

While aligning to the strategic oversight carefully provided by the Metro Smart Cities Steering Committee, the Planning Team tackles pilot projects in the form of smaller working groups.

All members of the Planning Team are volunteers who support this work as an area of passion in an effort to make transportation and mobility in Omaha stronger. These are the people who are truly making things happen.
